About this unique programme
Raising the Bar is a management development programme designed specifically for retail area managers. The focus of the programme is to support area managers in the development of their store managers (Raising the Bar) Workshops in the programme focus on the key competencies of area management and the specific skills needed to bring branch managers to the required level of performance, primarily focusing on:
- Objectives Management – area business plans
- Manager Development – training, coaching and mentoring
- Performance Management – counselling, improvement planning and disciplinary
- Continuous Improvement – appraising, personal development planning and succession planning.
The Raising the Bar programme has a unique way of assessing its effectiveness. At the beginning of the programme, area managers/operations managers assess the competence of each branch manager. This exercise is conducted again at the end of the programme to assess the effectiveness of the programme.
